I'm afraid I don't get that. Why would you let anyone breathe then? Or is he saying that you have to let them breathe before it's too late and they bite you? It's a bit muddled. Which is not strange coming from a muddled brain.
If the EU is being tough on Britain, it's because they can't afford to have member countries pulling out. The whole purpose of the union is for strength, and trade is one of the areas that is strengthened. Perhaps he would be okay with New York or Texas pulling out of the union here.

Christ, if he can't get more than 55% approval on a Fox poll of 1,000 people, he truly is in trouble.
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
UPDATE: It wasn't even THAT high. The actual number was 43%! The 55% was his disapproval rating. Fox News' Lou Dobbs program "accidentally" showed the graphic in error. (It apparently wasn't a Fox News poll; just one they used to create a graphic.)
