Tony Schwartz is an author and CEO of The Energy Project. He was the guy who co-authored "The Art of the Deal" with Trump. He doesn't have any special inside knowledge of the White House, but he knows Trump intimately and his instincts seem right. That said, I don't think Trump will resign. He's too stubborn. He's a man who will cut off his nose to spite his face.
On the other hand, if anything would make him resign it would be if he caught wind that he was going to be impeached or otherwise removed. Then, yes, I think he would resign. We've seen that in his cancellation of committees he put together when people started jumping ship. And whenever there's a conflict that brings about the end of something, he always says it was his idea to end it. Then again, if he can get enough crazies with guns to take up guard in the White House - who knows?
Schwartz says the reason he's going to resign is to stay out of prison, and I definitely think that would do it. Depending upon what Mueller comes up with and how they approach it, I suppose it's conceivable they could lay it out in front of him and tell him he either resigns or goes to jail. I hope they wouldn't give him the choice if - sorry, when they have proof of all his money laundering and racketeering. He needs to serve the time for that. (Another possibility is that they could give him immunity if HE'd turn on some of those mobster partners he's had.)
I suppose we just wait and see. Hopefully, he doesn't destroy the world in the meantime.
This man knows Dolt 45 very well. I can't simply dismiss what he's saying.
