I am not a cop hater.
We need them, and we probably need more of them. They have an enormously difficult job, and many,
if not most, of them are heroes every sadly uneducated and woefully underpaid day
of their lives. But there is a
difference between a police force and a goon squad. America cultivates too many goon squads, and
we ought not.
