Blumenthal (I think) tried to get Kavanaugh to say how he feels about gay marriage, and he wouldn't do it. He does say the law protects it.
At 9pm (CDT) Kamala Harris finally has her last turn. They're each getting only a few minutes for questions tonight, and Harris is sticking to questions of race. She's not revisiting the question about whether he's talked to anyone at the Kasowitz law firm about the Mueller investigation, disappointing scores of viewers. If she does indeed have proof that he has done, she needs to publicize it. Otherwise, her earlier questioning just looks like a GOP tactic - throw something out, insinuate something, and see what sticks.
After Harris, Tillis asks if Kavanaugh knows anyone at the Kasowitz law firm, and Kavanaugh gives one name. Tillis asks if he ever talked to that attorney about the Mueller investigation, and Kavanaugh says no. Funny how he acted like he didn't even know any attorney at the firm yesterday. He almost acted like he didn't know who Kasowitz was. Bullshit.
Anyway, that seemed well planned to be the ending remark. Perhaps they, too, expected Harris to bring it up again, and were keen to get in the bit admitting he knew a lawyer, but they didn't discuss Mueller. That was the only question from Tillis and the last question of the hearing.
Grassley wraps up the hearing for tonight praising Kavanaugh.
There's one more day. Apparently, it's witness testimonies. You can be sure Kavanaugh will be seated.
