Frank Sinatra was a mobster, but great speech. I thought maybe he was playing a role in The House I Live In. He was playing himself. The movie was made at the end of WWII ostensibly to counter anti-semitism. It was a little late for that. I suspect Sinatra's role was more to put some distance between him and the Italian government's role in the war, so his career didn't suffer.
Of course, we know assholes can sometimes say the right things.
