Two options:
1) We're starting an all out scorched earth policy in order to deflect from the President's racist comments and get the media to start praising him again (because they love bombs);
2) We're getting out of Afghanistan because we're going to need the military resources we have engaged in that Country to attach North Korea and/or Venezuela to get the media to start praising Trump again.
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
