In his press conference, McMaster just said, in answering a question with the intent to defend tRump, that the president wasn't even aware of where this information came from - he wasn't briefed on "sources and methods," and practically in the middle of his sentence he cut off saying that's the last question, and he was whisked away.
I would have cut him off there, too. He made it sound like 1) the president doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about, 2) they don't trust him, 3) he doesn't get briefed on important national security issues, or 4) all of the above.
On the other hand, if he wasn't briefed or aware of where the information came from, how did he know the part that has all the analysts cringing - what Syrian city it came from?
He'd answered a question of whether Trump gave away a city, he didn't answer. He simply said "all of you" know enough about this story that you could name a probable city.
...but hey, do what you want...you will anyway.
