Just What We Needed - More "Defence" Spending

In a plan designed to translate campaign promises into dollar and cent commitments, about $4bn will be earmarked this year and next to start building a wall on the US southern border.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which helps monitor air, water and other standards, will also see significant cuts.

In a recent speech in Detroit, Trump also announced he will freeze targets to limit future vehicle emissions.

The budget may be seen as a signal to the world that Trump's US may be less engaged and will put "America first".

Really? Here's the article's graphic.

You call that putting America first?
President Trump's proposed budget takes a cleaver to domestic programs, with many agencies taking percentage spending cuts in the double digits.

But for dozens of smaller agencies and programs, the cut is 100%.

Community development block grants. The Weatherization Assistance Program. The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The National Endowment for the Arts. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting. All would be axed if Congress adopts Trump's budget.

Also proposed for elimination are lesser-known bureaucracies like the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education Program, the Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program and the Inter-American Foundation.

Trump's budget says hundreds of programs and agencies would be eliminated — with more than 50 in the Environmental Protection Agency. But his first budget proposal identified 62 specifically. The list:

Make America Great Again.

This budget does not include entitlement reforms, mandatory spending, tax policy, infrastructure, or revenue collection. That budge proposal will be offered in May.

Congress does have to approve the budgets.  This should provide hours of fun.  And a tweet storm.

UPDATE  11:11 am:  And the tweet storm begins.

...but hey, do what you will anyway.
