War Hawk DiFi Must Have a Very Clean File

(Several updates below)

Watching her on CSPAN (http://www.c-span.org/video/?323106-1/us-senate-reaction-cia-report&live=) live, as she's ripping the CIA a new one.  It's sounding to me as though she's laying all the blame on "perhaps 40-50" CIA employees.

No mention of White House authorization.

DiFi explained why they did not interview detainees themselves, but that was not clear to me.  I will look for a transcript of her speech.   (update:  transcript)

UPDATE:  Where DiFi stressed the report shows that NO information gathered from torture led to good information or provided any information that was not available by other methods, John McCain, while insisting torture should not be permitted, is saying "little" information was produced from it.  He soundly refuted torture, but did not take any whacks at the CIA.  Maybe they have something on Johnny.

UPDATE:  Jay Rockefeller is taking his turn reaming the CIA.  You'd think there would be something in that old man's file, but maybe not.  And maybe, no matter who you are, or what you know, you don't mess with the Rockefellers.  And he is taking his whacks at the Bush administration as well, even though he gives them a pass by saying they were told lies about the necessity of approving torture.  Fine, but Jay, if you knew all that you claim you know, you were yourself complicit with torture.

Rockefeller also takes whacks at the Obama administration for withholding documents even now and insisting on redactions.  He says he doesn't know why they're withholding, and he says they are violating laws about when you can redact.

UPDATE:  Senator Lindsay Graham is defending the people who "thought this was the best way to defend the nation" in the wake of 9/11.  We shouldn't torture, but there is no comparison between what we did and what the terrible terrorists do.  He says we've corrected the problem, and we shouldn't be looking to punish anyone. America is great.  America is the world's savior...."The techniques in question are nowhere near what the enemies of this nation and radical Islam would do to people under their control. There is no comparison. The comparison is between who we are and what we want to be. In that regard, we made a mistake."
