The Sorrow of Memory Loss

Glenn Greenwald posted about John Podhoretz commenting on Keith Olbermann's firing in which Podhoretz said that if Olbermann had been employed by al Jazeera, they would have cut his tongue out. Greenwald pointed out the bigotry of the statement, and on their Twitter accounts, Podhoretz claimed it was a joke and called Greenwald a “self-serious, humorless buffoon.” (It's always a nice support to your argument to engage in name-calling.) Greenwald responded that Podhoretz was running away from what he wrote, asking, 'What's the “joke”?' There is no response from Podhoretz, and so Greenwald proceeded to prove that he does indeed have a sense of humor.
@jpodhoretz I guess it's good that you're embarrassed by the bigotry you spewed and won't answer - reverse the process next time

Sadly, I won't be able to remember that line the next time I should have need of it.
